Gastric Sleeve

The gastric sleeve is a type of weight loss surgery designed to help obese and overweight individuals lose weight rapidly. This surgery reduces the size of the stomach, which decreases appetite, leading to weight loss.

Treatment Method:
Gastric sleeve surgery is often performed using laparoscopy. In this procedure, the size of the stomach is reduced and restricted, limiting the absorption of food. Instead of making a large incision, two or three small incisions are made, and a device is inserted into the abdomen. A portion of the stomach is removed, specifically the part that secretes the hunger hormone. By removing this part of the stomach, the production of the hunger hormone decreases, resulting in normal hunger levels for the patient.
