Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is the use of extreme cold to freeze and remove abnormal tissues. Physicians use it to treat many skin conditions (including warts and skin lesions) and some cancers, including prostate, cervical, and liver cancer and this treatment is also called cryoablation.

Symptoms: warts, benign, premalignant skin lesions, and some malignant skin lesions 

Treatment method: In this method, tissues are destroyed by rapid freezing with substances such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, or nitrous oxide. Freezing causes the formation of a transparent or bleeding blister during the first day of the operation, gradually a scab forms after that and the scab falls off 3-4 weeks later.

Duration of stay in Iran: 3 days

Stay in the hospital: 1 day

Duration of full recovery: the next day until 3 to 4 weeks later

Return to the work: immediately after returning to the country of origin

Duration of the procedure: 10 minutes

Type of anesthesia: none or the use of local numbing creams
