Dermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that involves the mechanical abrasion of the upper layer of the skin by the attending physician, which is used to treat specific skin lesions such as acne scars, chicken pox scars, sunken scars, and raised scars, and flattens the skin surface. Irregular areas and flattening of prominent edges, uneven skin surfaces like acne boils, and fine wrinkles, especially around the mouth.

Treatment method: During this method, the doctor moves a small motorized device or sterilized sandpaper with steady and gentle pressure on the skin.This device has an abrasive wheel or brushes for its tip that removes the outer layers of the skin.
