Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal

Laser is a method to reduce facial and body hair. Laser is ineffective on white hair and electrolysis is recommended to remove white hair. The side effects of laser hair removal are very few, especially if the person has fair skin and regularly uses sunscreen. In sensitive and dark skin, there is a possibility of temporary skin color change, which is gradually resolved.

Tips about laser hair removal:

• To perform laser hair removal, the hair must not be removed from the root. At least two weeks for the face and one month for the body. During this time, only use the razor and hair shaving methods so that the hair roots remain for the laser. Use only shaving in between sessions. Depending on the speed of your unwanted hair, 1 to 2 days before the laser, shave the desired area completely so that only the roughness of the hair is felt and there are no long hairs at the time of the laser. Having long hair will burn your skin.

• Clean the intended area completely from any sun cream, moisturizer, and cosmetics. (Washing using alcohol cotton)

• Be careful that the laser needs to be repeated, and in each laser session, only a percentage of the hairs that are in the growth phase is destroyed, and because the hairs do not grow at the same time, it is necessary to repeat the laser. The intervals between laser sessions are every 4 to 6 weeks for the face and every 6 to 8 weeks for the body. It is not possible to determine the number of laser sessions by the doctor and it is different for different people. On average, 4 to 6 treatment sessions are needed. The number of laser sessions depends on various factors, including hormonal factors, age, etc. After 6 sessions of laser treatment, if needed, the laser can be repeated every 6 months to a year.

• The target area of the laser should not be discolored by the sun. Sunbathing or solarium is prohibited.

• In the case of tanning, there should be at least one month before laser treatment. In the case of laser treatment on tanned skin, there is a possibility of skin discoloration, and the laser is not recommended.

• Pain and burning during the laser and a little after it is normal and usually tolerable, but in sensitive areas, and if the person cannot tolerate it, you can use lidocaine cream one hour before the laser and cover it with a bag. Cover the freezer for better absorption of the cream and wash it a little before the laser. After the laser, use two-ring oxide cream and an ice pack to reduce burning and swelling. Note that immediately after the laser, there are unwanted hairs on the surface of the skin and they may even grow for up to 2 weeks, but after It gradually begins to pour. In the case of body hair, this time is longer.

• After the laser treatment, as long as the skin is inflamed, avoid washing and shaving the laser area. • If any symptoms such as wounds, blisters, purulent discharge, etc. develop in the lasered area, contact an expert as soon as possible. The IPD of the hospital informed that the necessary follow-up should be done in coordination with the attending physician. In the laser clinic of the hospital, the patient is first visited by a dermatologist, and then laser hair removal is performed under the supervision of a dermatologist and by a technician.
