Glioblastoma, Astrocytoma, Meningioma, Schwannoma

Glioblastoma is a high-grade malignant brain tumor that commonly occurs in middle-aged and elderly individuals. Genetic factors are the main cause, and due to the aggressive nature of this tumor, additional treatments like radiotherapy and chemotherapy are often required after surgery.

Symptoms:

  • Severe headache
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Seizures
  • Limb weakness
  • Blurred vision

Treatment: After brain imaging and starting anticonvulsant therapy, the patient is taken to surgery under general anesthesia. A craniotomy is performed in the optimal location based on tumor position. Using a microscope, the tumor is separated from surrounding tissue and removed.
