Herniated Disc (Back Disc Tear)
A herniated disc is one of the most common causes of spinal surgery. Smoking, genetic factors, and occupational factors contribute to the development of this condition.
Symptoms:
- Lower back pain radiating to the lower limbs
- Weakness in the lower limbs
Treatment: After general anesthesia, the patient is placed on their stomach. A suitable dissection is performed, and the ruptured disc is removed by gently displacing the spinal sac. If necessary, an artificial disc is inserted in place of the removed one. In cases of vertebral instability, the affected vertebrae are stabilized with screws.
