99mTc-PSMA with SPECT
This scan is very useful in diagnosing metastatic prostate cancer and is very cost-effective compared to PET CT-scan. This scan is performed using Tc-99m-PSMA radiopharmaceutical and images are taken using triphasic or SPECT methods.
Scanning procedure:
At first, the radiopharmaceutical is injected into the patient through a peripheral vein, and about 3 to 4 hours after the injection, the radiopharmaceutical is absorbed in the prostate region and the patient is ready for imaging. Images are taken as a perspective of the full body.
Scan preparation:
All medical records including tests, MRI, CT-SCAN, radiography, previous scans are mandatory.
Length of hospitalization: 1 day
