FDG PET SCAN- DOTATE PET CT- PSMA PET CT
PET scan is a diagnostic technique that consists of a combination of PET (Positron Emission Tomography) to evaluate and check performance and CT-scan for anatomical localization and is mainly used in oncology and cancers. In some cases, PET scan is also used in heart imaging, neurological diseases, prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors.
Important points in performing PET-scan:
All previous medical documents are essential to bring (especially pathology results).
The day before the PET-scan, patients should consider refraining from sports and intense muscle activities.
Six hours before the PET-scan, the patient must fast and should avoid drinking tea, soft drinks, and coffee; but drinking water is fine.
If the patient takes diabetes drugs, he must inform the doctor.
The day before the PET-scan, it is forbidden for the patient to consume the following food/ nourishment/compounds:
Bread, rice, pasta, soup containing noodles, potatoes, sugar and sugar, all kinds of sweets, candy and chocolate, and cookies, gum, juice, jam, nuts, peanut butter, all kinds of beans, mint and alcohol.
Approximate time for PET scan: 6 - 8 hours
Approximate length of result report: three working days
Approximate length of stay in Iran: 3 days
