LOTUSIUM177 is a radioactive substance that can be added to the carrier known as DOTATATE. When this substance is injected into a person's body, it binds to specific tumor cells and destroys these cancer cells with ionization radiation inside the body.

The applications of DOTATATE Lu are neuroendocrine tumors, thymus carcinoma, treatment-resistant meningiomas, pheochromocytoma, paraganglioma, and medullary thyroid cancer.

Preparation one week before admission:

Perform kidney ultrasound, urinary tract (evaluation for obstruction) and the following tests:

CBC/diff-SGOT-SGPT- Bilirubin (T AND D) -PT, PTT- BUN-Cr- ALP-PSA- LDH-CRP-Na-K

Preparations on the hospitalization day and after all:

- On the day of hospitalization, all medical documents such as kidney ultrasound, urinary tract, pathology, pet scan results and the results of all tests must be with the patient.

- At least four hours before admission, the patient must fast.

- The patient must inform, if he/she has had chemotherapy or radiation therapy less than a month ago.

- Having electronic devices (such as mobile phones, laptops and etc.) during hospitalization is not prohibited.

 - The patient should sleep in a separate bed and away from others for 3 days.

- Contact with infants, children or pregnant women should be observed for one week after the treatment.

- Since the patient's wife is pregnant, it should not sleep next to her for two weeks.

- Try to consume at least eight glasses of water per day so that every one to two hours requires bladder evacuation.

- If possible, use separate toilets, but in case of shared toilet, after each urination should be flushed twice; and the plastic toilet door should be closed during flushing.

- If the environment is contaminated with urinary secretions, the secretions should be cleaned by paper towels and thrown in the toilet and flushed. Wash hands for at least 20 seconds after each defecation.

- The bystanders should not be at a distance of less than one meter for more than one hour next to the patient. In general, try to keep a distance of two meters from others.

- The patient should not use public transportation as much as possible in the first three days.

- If the general condition is good, the patient can return to work three days after the treatment.

- The patient can settle in a hotel immediately after the treatment. Air travel should be avoided as much as possible in the first three days of treatment.

- 48 to 72 hours after treatment, the full body scan will be taken.
