Cataracts

A cataract is the clouding of the eye's natural lens, which are normally clear. It is similar to a window that has fogged up with steam, causing blurred vision. The grade and pattern of lens clouding vary among patients.

Causes of Cataracts 

The most common cause is aging. Other causes include:

• Hereditary cataracts
• Medical conditions such as diabetes.
• Eye injuries
• Prolonged use of certain medications, like corticosteroids.
• Extended and unprotected exposure to sunlight.
• History of eye surgery.
