Cornea transplantation is a surgical procedure where the damaged portion of a patient's cornea is removed and replaced with a new, healthy cornea. 

There are two common methods of cornea transplantation:

Full-thickness cornea transplantation: In this procedure, the entire thickness of the cornea in the damaged area is removed and replaced with a healthy cornea.

Lamellar cornea transplantation: Cornea transplantation has been prevalent for about 40 years in this form, where the patient's cornea is removed, and a healthy cornea is transplanted. With advancements in ophthalmic knowledge and the invention of new corneal transplantation techniques, surgeons can now selectively remove only the defective and damaged layer of this tissue and replace it with a healthy layer.

Length of hospital stay: 1-2 weeks depending on the surgeon's recommendation

Length of Stay in Iran: Approximately 6 weeks (patients must remain in Iran for at least one month post-surgery for timely follow-up visits and assessments).
