Tetralogy of Fallot in Children (TOF)

One of the most significant heart diseases causing cyanosis and blue discoloration in children. It involves four characteristics or defects: a ventricular septal defect, thickening of the right ventricular muscle, improper placement of the aorta, and narrowing of the pulmonary artery channel.
Symptoms: Severe fatigue during play and daily activities, prolonged crying and restlessness associated with shortness of breath, cyanosis, and clubbing of the fingers and toes, depending on the duration of the cyanosis. Other symptoms include reduced consciousness levels and a change in skin color to a bluish tint.
Treatment Method: Complete surgical correction of the cardiac defects. In specific cases, such as when the infant has anemia or unique anatomy, the surgery may be performed in stages.
Medical Treatment: Medical treatment is temporary; surgery is the main treatment.
