Otoplasty (Ear Surgery)

Otoplasty is a safe and beneficial procedure used to achieve a normal ear appearance while maintaining the ear's function. It is often referred to as the most satisfying plastic surgery, particularly for boosting children's self-confidence.

Method:

• The surgery lasts 1 to 2 hours, depending on the structure and type of tissue prior to surgery. Factors like skin type, race, age, and the degree of deformity influence the final results.
• Pre-surgery, photographs are taken of the patient's ears for analysis by the surgeon.
• After the surgery, a soft bandage is placed around the patient's head to cover the ears. This bandage helps reduce swelling and supports the new ear position. The bandage should remain dry and undisturbed for 3-4 days.
• The patient must avoid bending, lifting heavy objects, or any strenuous activities after surgery.
• The patient should visit the surgeon 3-6 days after surgery to remove the bandage, and a headband should be worn for 4 to 6 weeks.
