Cystoplasty (Bladder Augmentation in Neurogenic Small Bladders)
Cystoplasty is performed in various cases, with the most important being those where a small, high-pressure bladder leads to severe urinary disorders on one hand and, in some cases, urine reflux from the bladder to the ureters, causing kidney damage on the other.
Symptoms: Early renal failure, very small bladder capacity, recurrent febrile urinary tract infections, urinary frequency, and sometimes urgency incontinence.
Treatment Method in the Hospital: During this surgery, a portion of the small intestine is used to enlarge the bladder.
