Cystourethroscopy

Cystourethroscopy

Cystourethroscopy is a diagnostic procedure used to examine diseases from the beginning of the urinary tract to the bladder. It is a key procedure for patients who visit the clinic due to blood in the urine, either observed through laboratory tests or visibly.

Symptoms:
Presence of blood in the urine

Treatment Method in the Hospital:

The patient is referred to the operating room under spinal anesthesia. Using a cystoscope, which is an endoscope for the urinary system, the procedure is performed from the anterior urethral mucosa towards the prostate and bladder. In this process, any abnormalities, strictures, or prostate enlargement are identified. The cystoscope is then inserted into the bladder, where the openings of the ureters are examined. The walls of the bladder (floor, left side, and ceiling) are carefully checked for masses or any abnormal conditions.
