Prostatectomy

Prostatectomy is performed using various techniques to remove part or all of the prostate gland. The prostate is located in the male pelvis, beneath the bladder. It surrounds the urethra, which carries urine from the bladder to the penis.

Treatment Methods:

Open Radical Prostatectomy: The surgeon typically makes an incision in the lower abdomen to remove the prostate. This procedure is known as retropubic surgery.

Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy: The surgeon creates small incisions and inserts specialized instruments through these incisions in the lower abdomen to remove the prostate.

Incontinence and frequent urination, a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying, inability to urinate, urinary tract infections, etc.
