Urethral Fistula

Urethral Fistula

A urethral fistula often occurs as a complication of urethral surgeries, particularly hypospadias repair.

Symptoms: Urine leakage from the fistula, typically located below the normal urethral opening.

Treatment Method in the Hospital: The fistula is identified using endoscopy. The surrounding tissues are mobilized, and the fistula is repaired and closed. To prevent recurrence, surrounding tissues are sutured over the fistula site. A catheter is placed for 1 week post-surgery to aid healing.
