Ocular Angiography

Ocular Angiography

Ocular angiography is an imaging technique used to diagnose ocular diseases and disorders. Ophthalmologists perform this procedure for various purposes, such as observing microscopic changes in the eye, determining the most suitable treatment for ocular abnormalities, and confirming diagnoses. During this diagnostic process, the physician first administers a pupil-dilating agent and then injects a contrast dye into the patient’s bloodstream. The dye causes the retinal blood vessels to illuminate, allowing for the identification of conditions like macular edema and diabetic retinopathy through imaging. Based on the condition and its progression, the most appropriate treatment can then be applied.
