Ocular Brachytherapy

Ocular Brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is a form of radiation therapy in which the radiation source is placed in or near the treatment area. This technique can be used alone or in combination with other treatment methods. Brachytherapy involves the precise placement of radioactive sources directly on the affected area, minimizing exposure to healthy tissues that are further away from the sources. This method offers advantages over external beam radiation therapy, allowing for the tumor to be irradiated with very high and localized doses, thereby reducing the risk of unnecessary damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
