Peripheral Angiography

Peripheral Angiography

Peripheral angiography is a procedure used to assess occlusion, narrowing, and other issues in peripheral blood vessels, including those in the legs, arms, pelvis, etc

During this procedure, a balloon or stent may be used to open blocked vessels, and in severe cases, surgery might be required. With X-ray technology and contrast dye, the physician can visualize and treat blocked vessels. To access these vessels, a needle is typically inserted in the groin or arm.
Applications of Peripheral Angiography
• Peripheral artery disease (PAD) or artery blockages
• Assessment of kidney vessels
• Issues in the aorta and its branches
• Vascular abnormalities
• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
• Blood clots in pulmonary arteries (pulmonary embolism)
