SPECT-CT

The SPECT-CT device is a specialized diagnostic tool in nuclear medicine that combines SPECT and CT as two distinct systems to provide complementary anatomical information for physicians.

 The integration of SPECT and CT imaging enhances the sensitivity of scan findings, allowing for improved diagnostic accuracy across a wide range of conditions.
During the imaging process, the patient must remain motionless on the examination table. A radioactive tracer is injected into the patient’s peripheral vein, where it undergoes transformations in the body, emitting various detectable rays. These rays are captured by the SPECT-CT crystals and processed to reconstruct the final image.
Applications of SPECT-CT Imaging
SPECT-CT imaging is used for diagnosing:
• Coronary artery obstructions
• Benign and malignant bone tumors
• Pulmonary embolism
• Thyroid and parathyroid disorders
• Upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding
• Renal dysfunction, urinary tract obstructions, and renal vascular issues
• Infections and inflammations
• Neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke
• Tear duct obstructions
• Malignant tumors, including neuroendocrine tumors, thyroid tumors, and others
