SPECT

SPECT

SPECT imaging is a non-invasive medical method widely used for diagnosing various diseases. In this imaging technique, the biokinetic properties of radiopharmaceuticals are used for physiological imaging or functional processes of patients.

Depending on the characteristics of the radiopharmaceutical and the patient's condition, absorption occurs in various organs, and a fraction of the photons passes through the surrounding soft tissue and is ultimately detected by a gamma camera. The gamma camera rotates around the area of interest, collecting images from different angles. Using the SPECT device, three-dimensional images of the function of brain or heart tissue or organs can be obtained.
